Safe Environment Program at St. James
St. James Parish is committed to ensuring a safe environment for our children and for upholding the "National Charter for the Protection of Children & Young People" as established by the United States Council of Catholic Bishops.
All adults who work with children must:
- Take the online Safe Have course
- Be screened by Law Enforcement
- Adhere to the Diocese Of Charleston Code of Conduct
- Read and sign the Diocese Of Charleston Sexual Abuse Policy and Procedures

If you have been abused by a priest or other church personnel, please contact the law enforcement officials where the abuse occurred.

Individual spiritual direction under the guidance of approved, trained spiritual directors.

Individual counseling, on a time limited basis, that provides therapeutic support to complement other efforts toward healing and wholeness.

Professional Resource Identification: assistance in one's search for other professional resources that one's individual circumstances require in their journey to wholeness.
